Can't Escape This Hell (TAG: Mulan)

He has this really annoying (frightening as hell) recurring nightmare where Marina's mounted to a wall, two of his antique sabres pushed threw her swollen belly. She tries scrabbling for purchase; to find a way to get her feet on the ground again, to rip the swords from her stomach and save the child inside of her -

But her toes just barely touch the ground, and the swords are slowly cutting it's way up her abdomen, and blood keeps pouring through the cuts, keeps running down her thighs and pooling at the floor -

And the banister is too far away; her fingers almost reach but slip just before she can grab hold of a solid surface.

In these nightmares, he is always just a second late; just a pint of blood away from saving her.

In this nightmare, he and Proteus get there in time to rip the blades from her gut and to feel all the strength leave her as she bleeds out on them - condemning him, chanting this is your fault over and over again.



He wakes in a cold sweat, gasping short breathes and waiting for reality to set in -

Marina survived - they got there in time - they saved her. They tracked down the bastard that killed his best friends unborn child and tried to kill her.

He lets out a gasp, grasping for his throat, trying to clear it to breathe clearly.

It is his fault.

Mulan heard her cellmate gasping in his sleep. His sudden intake of breath made it quite clear he was now awake. She'd merely napped that night. She'd had a lot of sleep while in Isolation. Sleep was the last thing her body needed. She remained still as his breathing slowly became normal again. She really didn't want to stay in one place, her body had suffered enough lack of physical exercise.
She takes a silent breath, God damn it. 
Mulan stands up and walks over to Sinbad. "Hey," She grunts punching his shoulder. "Sinny." Not bothering to push her hair out of her face.

"What?" His voice comes out croaky, so he sits up and clears his throat, running a hand through his sweat mattered hair. "What? Did I wake you up?"

Mulan just stares at him. Before sighing and pushing her hair back. "No." She answers bluntly. She remains silent a few moments longer. "What was it about." It wasn't a question. "The mom of Proteus?"

He glares at her, but it doesn't have much oomph behind it because he's exhausted and shaken. "No, it wasn't." He replies, and in an undertone "it was his wife."

Mulan frowns in the darkness. "Was it a nightmare?" Mulan began, crossing her arms. "Or was it a flashback?" She continues. She used to have those as a child. All the time.

"... A bit'a both." He replies, shrugging and lying back down in bed, using his forearm as a pillow as he stares up at the ceiling.

Mulan lifts one side of her lip into a scowl. "You miss her or something?" She asks, walking in a circle before beginning to do standing stretches.

"What, and you don't miss anybody on the outside?" He asks with a scoff, getting out of bed and slipping his jumpsuit on.

"I dunno..." Mulan says suspiciously, shrugging a shoulder as she held her ankle over her head. "Little weird to be missing your buddy's girl." Her grip tightens on her ankle. "Yeah. I suppose I miss her. She's the reason I'm here. I don't really blame her. I should've just gotten a manslaughter charge you know. But in a sense, yes. I miss her with all my heart."

"'Little wei- She was my friend first." She was mine first is left off and he moves into the bathroom and gets the water running, splashing it on his face and scrubbing at the back of his neck.

"Well there ya go; I don't need your judgement about missing someone."

Mulan smirks, sitting on the ground. "So he stole her then." Mulan frowns. She was about to tease as she's done many times before, but for whatever reason, this time she pressed her lips together. "S-Sorry." She mumbles, hoping he didn't hear her.

He looks at her from out of the corner of his eye, standing slowly as he continues to wash the back of his neck.

"Not in the sense that you're talking about, no." He replies, grabbing his dirty wife beater and putting it under the water, hoping to scrub it clean. He didn't exactly feel comfortable with his jumpsuit done up to his hips without something underneath.

No need to traumatize the kid and all.

"Marina was my best friend. We grew up together. She was m-" He cuts himself off with a cough; he didn't think she wanted to hear that Marina was his first. "Anyway, we were friends, mostly. Proteus was our friend too."

Mulan sighs exxageratedly. "Yeah, yeah. Bottom line is, she ended up falling for him while you were trapped in a best friend complex. Simple outcome. It always happens when there's two guys and a chick. I bet it was hard." She didn't mean to sound smug but she knew she did. 
That was her own superiority complex taking over. She notices Sinbad cleaning his shirt. Speaking of shirts.. her hand moves to her pocket where hers remained. She hadn't put it on once. It was too hot.

"No, that doesn't always happen." He replies, frowning. The idea that he was friendzoned is... kinda stupid. Deciding to throw away the 'don't traumatize the kids about sex' ideology, he grins.

"Proteus, Marina and I were in a polyamorous relationship for three years before we broke up because my job was getting in the way. We remained friends who occasionally had three ways together."

Until she got pregnant, and then -

He frowns, scrubbing harder at his shirt.

Mulan can't help but make a face of disgust. She covers her ears. "Ew, ew, EW!" She shrieks. "That is just disgusting! No wonder you're a sex addict! Ew, ew... I don't believe it ew, ew! Forget I asked! You and your wet dreams can stay on that side of the room! Gross, gross!" She squeezes her eyes shut.

 (P.s Did you get the polyamority thing from that movie Savages?)

(OOC: Nope, I've never heard of that movie before )

Sinbad lets out an incredulous laugh. "I know you're only seventeen, but - come on. Your view on sex is atrocious."

(OOC: It was terrifying on a real life mafia scale. But the main characters sound like you three. Though I wouldn't recommend watching it unless you're prepared to see someone shot in the knee caps *shudders* worst mistake of my young life. ANYWAYS)

"For the absolute millionth time, I told you, never had time for that stuff. I had a normal life up until I was nine." Mulan frowns again and pulls her legs up against her chest. "But honestly, the thought scares me. Plus it's really gross, when you cum it's just everywhere." She slightly smiles, wondering if she'll ever have her first time before she dies. If she did she'd at least have a shot at heaven, being a virgin and all.

(OOC: It can't be as bad as watching someones arm get ripped off in a really ridiculous way :/ Don't watch Evil Dead unless you're into grossly unrealistic movies!
But to explain poly relationships; almost exactly like a normal relationship, expect there's three people involved, and they all love each other equally.)

Sinbad lets out a loud laugh, clutching his belly, imagining cum everywhere. "What kind of pornos have you been watching?"

He leaves the singlet for now and moves to lean against the wall, watching her closely. "Sex can get messy, yeah, but... not cum everywhere."

(OOC: Then it's just like savages! X) But see I don't do scary stuff. I'm a night owl and I get paranoid when I'm walking around the house.)

"I don't watch porn you-" Mulan resisted the urge to call him a jerk off. This was the only company she'd enjoyed in a month. "Hmph. Yuh huh." She replies.

(OOC: Haha, it's not really that scary - I'm still searching for a scary movie that'll give me nightmares aha!)

"Then how did you know there'd be cum everywhere - I don't think I'll ever get over that!" He replies, still laughing.

Mulan felt her face get hot. "I... saw it. But it wasn't through porn you freak!"

Sinbad frowns, watching the blush rise on her cheeks. "a) That's awkward and I would ask but I'm sure you won't tell, and b) You gotta be more liberal with sex, Kiddo, it's part of human nature to want to... connect" he flashes a truly filthy grin. "...In such a way."

"And this is coming from a rapist." Mulan glares. "Liberal, that's an odd word. You can't be free with something you've never done." Moron.

"That's fair." He nods. "I am a rapist. And yeah, kudos to you for completely missing the point. You throwing around words like "gross" when someone mentions sex - which, you know, is normally part of a relationship - implies that you're just as disgusted with the person as you are with the act. So yeah, be liberal with sex. Or the idea of it."

"Or," he continues offhandedly, making his way back into the bathroom. "You could shut your mouth."
