TASK #3 VILLAIN SAYS

The room laid mostly empty and cold enough to make one shiver. The only thing in the room was a steel table, as cold as ice, a couple in each corner, and in the final corner a group of items.
They had each been given a different colored electric collar, a little bit heavy, but not enough to create any serious discomfort. When the gas wore off, which it was starting to do now, they would most likely have somewhat of a headache. The gas had that effect on some people. Some felt almost nothing, but others got migrenes from it. It was fun to watch.
Now that they were starting to stir the speakers were turned on to announce the rules and the reason they were there.
"Good morning," he said cheerily. "As the more perceptive of you should have noticed by now, the collars around your necks are electrical collars, and one push of a button will send enough electricity through your body to kill you. Slowly that is, not instantly. So if you'll do what I say that would be great.
You are all paired up in two. What I want to do is play a little game of Villain Says, with your partner's life at stake. Now, you either do what I say, or your partner will die a slow, painful death. Your partner will be wearing the same colored collar as you, so it should be easy to find out. I'll let you ponder that a bit, but I'll be back soon," he said, just as cheerily as if he was announcing that dinner was ready, and turned the speakers off.

Dimitri woke up, his head spinning almost as much as it was aching.
Warning signals rose in his head even before he sat up and rubbed his head. He was on the floor again, he hadn't been when he was in his cell. And it was cold, really cold. He opened his eyes to see Chel on the floor right next to him, her body shivering in its sleep. She must be as cold as he was...
He wanted to lay a hand on her shoulder, but remembered how badly that had gone last time he tried to wake her that way, so he kept his distance, trying to wake her with sounds instead.
"Chel, hey Chel, wake up!" he said, a bit panicky. Looking around this seemed like another game, but not as harmless as the last one. The items in the close corner made him shiver with fear. What was this thing?

Odette woke up slowly, her head hurting and spinning around. Part of her expected to wake up in a room filled with other girls again, so what met her eyes surprised her. She had no idea what was going on, and what the man said on the speaker confused her even further. Was this a game where they could risk dying? She felt the collar around her neck. How was that possible? "Isn't that illegal?" she whispered to herself. She looked around the room, terrified of what was going on. But she did her best to keep calm and seem like it didn't affect her.

Cale woke up slowly, his head felt cloudy and for a second he thought he'd gotten into some sort of accident after trying to steal a car and had been left for dead in the cold, dark streets. But as he woke up and his vision cleared, he realised he was just in another room. In prison.
He rubbed at the back of his neck but felt something against it, what the hell? he thought as he heard that same voice over the speakers.

'Fuck!' he shouted as the voice disappeared, this is definitely not the same as the last two contests, he thought as he slammed his fist to the floor. Cale quickly spun round, remembering the voice said something about a partner.. And there was Odette, lying next to him and all he could think about was that he had to protect her, like he had vowed to all those years ago, no matter what the cost.

Meg woke up, her body shivering and her head pounding. As her vision came into focus, she noticed she wasn't in her cell, but in another room with five other people. What the hell? Her hands traveled up to rub the back of her neck and she froze. A collar? Is this another one of his sick games? When the voice boomed over the speakers, her face hardened, glaring up in the direction of it. Wait..a partner? Her eyes searched around the room, landing their sights on Cillian laying only a few feet away. "Cillian!" she gasped, quickly crawling across the ground to his side. "Cillian, please wake up." She shook him, her eyes filled with fear and confusion. Her heart was pounding, scared he wouldn't wake up.

Cillian heard someone talk. He frowned in his sleep. When suddenly someone shook him he opened his eyes in shock. "W..what's wrong?" Cillian asked as he sat up. Megara was there. Did she have a nightmare? Or she thought he had? Wait...he was no longer on a matrass. He was no longer in his room either..Looking back to Megara. He frowned she was wearing a red collar around hed neck. The others had collars too. But different collar. So he did too? He moved his hand to his neck. A collar too. "Megara what is going on?" Cillian whispered at Megara.

Meg let out a sigh of relief when Cillian opened his eyes. "I-I think it's Korso. He's put us in some kind of game again." Her voice was trembling, she couldn't help herself from being scared. She would much rather have had a terrible bad dream and wake up in her cell with Cillian there to comfort her. But instead, she's stuck in this dark, cold room with strangers. Could prison get any worse?

Cillian's frown got even bigger. She was scared. He couldn't blame her. He was nervous aswell. "Try to stay calm Megara. If you panic Korso wins." Cillian whispered again. As his eyes scanned the room. Allot of stuff that could be used to torture. He would not like this. The two blondes seemed to have the same collor. The dark skinned female and the ..brown haired? Redhead? They shared the same collor too. So he and Megara shared the collor red. To wear around their necks. "Everything will be alright." he wasn't sure.. But with her being afraid this could end bad.

'Odette,' he whispered to her, 'are you ok?'

Cale glanced quickly around the room, at least there are only 6 of us, he thought as he watched the others. He recognised the older man from the contest he was in and the brunette he was with.. she must be the one Odette told about our relationship, he thought, making a mental note to talk to her. If he could get her away from her partner for 5 minutes that is..

Meg nodded, trying to stay calm. Freaking out would only make this worse. Her eyes scanned the room, seeing who else was in ther room. A dark skinned woman and the man she had been eyeing during the men's contest in the last cell swap. Were they randomly chosen? A flash of blonde caught her eye as she saw Odette across the room and a blonde man. Cale? It had to be Cale. So her vote actually helped her get roomed with her brother. She was glad. That must mean it's by cell. It had to be. When she saw the table, her body cringed. Are they going to force us to torture each other!? What the hell is wrong with this place?

Chel twitched, hearing her name. Her first thoughts were of the chill that had settled over her, then of the pain in her head again. "Me estoy muy cansado de esta mierda." she grumbled, rubbing her temples as she slowly sat up. At least there was a familiar face with her. "What's going on, Dimitri?" The cold metal around her neck and the menacing instruments across the room from them were giving her more than a bad vibe. It was like deja vu. The thought made her curl up on herself involuntarily, an old habit she'd worked on killing.

Dimitri tried to smile reassuringly when she woke up, but he just looked terrified.
"It's a game," he said quietly. "Kind of like Simon Says?" he said, his tone questioning the statement. He didn't know much about the game, but the name suggested so at least. He couldn't be far off.
"Except, we do what he says or... or our partner... dies.." he said, mumbling the last words barely loud enough for her to hear. He didn't want to scare her, but still he needed to tell her the truth. If not only for her sake, for his as well. They barely even knew each other. How could he trust her with his life?

Odette heard Cale's words, but she couldn't get anything over her lips. Instead she just shook her head slowly. She slowly looked around at the other people in the room, paying special attention to their collars. Even Cale's. "What colour is mine?" she asked eventually, with a voice that was barely hearable. "It's yellow... isn't it?"

Chel pinched the bridge of her nose, sighing. She shouldn't have been surprised. She herself had been saying that things would escalate. And now, here was the proof. These types didn't have limits.

Damn, she hated being right.

"Has he said what we're supposed to be doing exactly?" She asked, glancing at the others. Were they supposed to torture the others? Or their own partners?

He shook his head. "But I don't think it's going to be pretty." It was a harsh truth, but knowing Chel he was sure she would be able to handle it a hundred times better than he himself did. Just looking at her now she seemed so calm and collected, where he probably looked terrified himself.
"What would you be willing to do..?" he asked carefully. He didn't want to blurt out that he didn't trust her, or ask her straight if he could. He supposed this was subtle enough with her still getting his message.

Cale nodded at her question, turning his back to the others so he could just pay attention to her for the moment.

'Everything's going to be ok,' he said quietly, even though he knew that wasn't true. Then he added something that he'd make sure came true no matter what, 'I'm not going to let you die in here,' he whispered before kissing her, discreetly so no one else could see, who knew if he'd get another chance after this.

Chel snorted at his 'not so pretty' assessment. Of course it wouldn't be. It never was. At least for those on the receiving end. She was nervous, yes, but she wasn't going to show fear. That only fueled them. She just had to focus on her anger instead, let that subdue the fear.

She looked at Dimitri again when he asked her his question. What would she do? It would be easy to just let him die, but... the idea repulsed her. She didn't want that to happen for some reason. Probably because he was the only halfway decent person she'd met. She could kill other monsters, sure. She'd done it dozens of times. But he wasn't a monster...

"Anything to keep us alive." Chel answered him solemnly as she glanced around them, then leaned in close and added in a whisper, "If he says we have to hurt our partners, then you hurt me. I can take it." She'd lived through it once. Once more wouldn't kill her...she hoped.

He looked at her for a long period of time. Somehow he believed she meant it, and a determination grew in him for them to make it through this together. He smiled at her, though his eyes were serious, showing his fear but also his trust in her. He nodded as if saying he'd do the same.
He nodded at her last statement too, but didn't know if he could do that to her when and if the time came. For now though, it was better not to fight her, nothing good would come out of that. Just her suggesting it though made him believe in her. A little.
He looked around at the two other couples, but couldn't say he recognized any of them except for the older man. Wasn't he the one who had fought the asian? He could't say for certain though, and the blonde male he didn't recognize at all.

She still could see doubt in his eyes, but it was unsurprising. Despite their 'intimacy' earlier, it'd be ludicrous to think he'd trust her completely. It was a smart move, she had to admit. At least he looked like he was willing to work with her for now. She watched the other pairs, a little disappointed that Mister Debonair was there. A pity they weren't meeting under better circumstances. Oh well.

"And if we have to hurt them, you let me do that." she told him, not looking back at him. "That's my area of expertise, not yours."

He raised an eyebrow in surprise at how willing and eager she were to harm others. Not that he wished to do so himself, so if it came down to it he'd be grateful if she did, but it worried him how easy it seemed to her.
"Let's just see what he asks of us first," he smiled a little weak, just trying to stop her from saying more disturbing things and having him picture her as a sociopath. He was starting to like her a little, she was cool, but she still scared him, and he couldn't shake the feeling that this woman was out of her mind in more ways than one.

Cillian tapped Megara on the shoulder. ''Don't think too much. The more you think the more doubts you'll get. More fears.'' He whispered towards her. It was true. Sometimes you had to overanalyze the situation. But sometimes you shouldn't. It could awaken the worst thoughts. Just like children couldn't sleep at night. Thinking there were monsters. But when the children would be told a story they would think of the story. Not of the monsters. If they could focus on something else than the danger comming their way. Korso could maybe see he couldn't get to them so easily.

Meg looked back at him, the fear still in her eyes, but it would fade away. "You're right..if we just do as he says, we'll be fine. No one will die.." Her hand rose to feel the collar around her neck. Hopefully he cared enough for her..if he didn't, she knew she would die. No matter how hard she tried to deny it. She sat on the cold ground, waiting for another anouncement, hopeing that this would be all over soon.

Korso had rather been enjoying the panic and anger as they woke up and realized the danger they were in, but it was about time they got this started. He thought for a moment about what he'd have them do first, he had to start easy. Perfect, he thought as an idea came to mind.
"Okay, let's get this started, shall we?" he said over the speakers. "A66129, would you be so kind to remove all your clothing?" His voice made it obvious he meant all, not just down to the underwear. It might seem like a dirty, perverted move, but to tell the truth he could not care less about her body at all. It was a subtle form for torture. Not just the embarrasment. The temperature of the room would soon have her blue without her warm jumpsuit protecting her from the cold.

Meg rose her head to look in the direction of the speakers as soon as the voice came over them. A66129...that was her. Take off her clothes!? It was freezing in here! She hesitated as she looked over at Cillian and bit her bottom lip. She had to keep him safe. "Alright..alright. You'll get your wish." A sigh came past her lips as her hands rose to unzip her jumpsuit. Her clothes fell around her feet as she stood in the room completly naked. Don't let it bother you. It's just a game. It'll be over soon.

It was astonishing how fast the woman had just stripped down. He had expected her to follow orders, but most would at least hesitate. She must really care for that old man... maybe he was her father or something.
He stared for a moment. Damn, she's gorgeous... He pulled his eyes away from her when he realized what he was doing. She must have felt awful enough having to do this without people staring at her. He only hoped she hadn't seen him...
He felt so sorry for her, already shivering. He was so tempted to offer her a jacket or something, if only he had had one. A blanket, anything. But the only thing he had was his own jumpsuit, and without it, he himself would be cold. He knew it was selfish, but he didn't even know her. Besides, that was probably against the rules anyway.
