New evidence, New Impressions

(OOC: horribleeee title xD so sorry, I have to post this from my mobile, so it may be short)

She woke up next to Dimitri, his arms wrapped around her shoulders loosely. Her head pounded in pain. Korso must have gassed them last night...She carefully unlocked his arms so she wouldn't wake him and slowly sat up. As her eyes scanned the room, hr eyes fell onto a little black book laying next to the cell door. Crawling over to it, her hands picked it up, staring at the blank, black cover for a few moments. When she had the courage to do so, she opened the book only to find a page with a prisoner's name, age, and crimes listed. Gaston....that was the man Cillian had warned her about. She continued to slowly flip the pages until she froze. Dimitri Donahue. Her eyes flicked back behind her to look at him. He was still knocked out. She bit her bottom lip as she turned back to the book. Should she look? Her heart screamed no, but her mind was being overtaken by curiosity. She was beginning to really like him....she had to be sure she wasn't heading into a trap, but...if he found out, he could take it as an invasion of his privacy. After a few long moments, she took a deep breath and continued to read his page. Age 24...so he was only a year older than her. Her eyes fell onto the word, crimes. She hesitated to read on...but decided she had to know.

[OOC: I like the title, and that was not a short post xDDD And I was seriously feeling on the edge of my seat reading that, with a grin on my face xDD This is going to be fun! xDD]

Dimitri stirred, feeling colder than before. He groaned sleepily and put his arm lazily over his head to keep it from hurting so much. He didn't open his eyes, still too far into his sleep. And the throbbing pain wasn't exactly making him want to open his eyes and sit up.
He was completely unaware of what was happening, still dreaming sweetly of his nights with the prostitute he had been fond of. Not the sex part, but the way she snuggled into his arms and stayed there until their time was done. Then he opened his eyes, watching the blurred world around him, seeing a shadow a bit from where he was lying.
"Megara?" he asked in a groggy morning-voice.

She froze as she heard Dimitri groan as he woke up. If she was going to look, she had to do it quick. Another deep breath came past her lips before she read it. Supporting Prostitution. Prostitution....that was a life she had always avoided while she lived on the streets. The girls would go so far to degrade themselves and the men...the men were always those heartless bastards that just wanted a good lay, not even caring what would happen to those poor girls. All they wanted was some money to start a real life...but most of them were murdered or left beaten half to death on the sides of the road. She despised those men. And she was falling for one...She heard him call her and quickly slid the book away from her, far enough away so it would look as though she had been nowhere near it. "Over here..." she said softly. Her heart was filled with sadness and anger, but she hid it under a mask so he wouldn't see.

Dimitri shut his eyes harshly and shook his head to try to make his vision less blurry and his mind wake up a bit more. "Why are you over there?" he asked, still rather sleepy, but he pushed himself up on his elbow to watch her better.
"You're not getting nightmares again, are you?" he asked, honestly concerned, looking her over to see if she had cried or if she was shaking. He couldn't find any signs of it though, so he relaxed.

She turned to look at him, staying where she was on the floor. "No, I didn't have one...I just.." her voice trailed off, unsure if she should mention the book, but he was bound to find it eventually. Its not like she could hide it under something. "I was just going to see what that was..." she pointed towards the book as if she hadn't looked at it. She couldn't tell him she looked...he would hate her. But she knew who he was now. What he had done. How could she have been so stupid...it was probably all an act. He was just going to use her and throw her away like everyone else had. She stayed where she was, not moving towards the book. If he wanted to see it, he would have to get up and get it himself.

Dimitri turned his head in the direction which she was pointing and saw a black leather folder. What the..
He crawled up to it, not yet having the strength to stand up. It wasn't like it was that far away anyway. When he opened it and quickly flipped through it, it didn't take him long to realize that it was a collection of the prisoners here. He had seen all of these either on the TV or while he was in the room with them during the Muscle Madness task. He couldn't recognize all of the faces, but he knew they were probably there too, he just couldn't remember them.
He stopped when he got to Megara's page, due to the shock of the realization that they were in the folder as well. He immediatly closed it. He wasn't going to look at her file unless she said it was okay. He was pretty curious, but he trusted her. He doubted there was anything important in her file that she didn't already know.

Her eyes followed Dimitri as he moved towards the book. Her mind was racing, a million thoughts running back and forth. "What is it?" She asked, even though she knew it exactly. She wouldnt look at it again until he did. He couldnt know she had seen it. Not yet. She had to keep that to herself. She knew how those men acted, so she would wait and watch for any signs. It starts out all innocent, but then once the girl becomes comfortable, the darker side starts to come out, slowly but surely. She had to be careful.

"It's us.." he said, still looking down on the leather cover of the folder, turning it back and forth in his hand, but there was nothing written on the front or back. "It's all the prisoners, and their files."
He frowned down on it, wondering if he should give it to Megara. He wondered how she'd react to his crime, but considering that was before he met her, and that it was far better than murder or anything like what these people seemed to have done, it couldn't be that bad, right?
"You want to see?" he asked hesitantly and looked over at her, wondering why she wouldn't come closer.

She shook her head, staying where she was and not wanting to move at all. Not wanting to be near him. Not just yet. "I don't want to...not unless you do." Her voice was soft and gentle, but inside, her mind was still racing, her heart beating a million beats a minute. Maybe he wasn't like those other men...but then again, maybe he was. She would never be sure. She had to keep her distance, stay cautious. Her heart felt as though it had been stabbed a hundred times. She felt so stupid to fall for those tricks..to start falling for him. He was tricking her, he wanted to use her. How could she have been so stupid...

He got up and stretched his body, walking over to her with the folder before sitting down next to her. She seemed tired or something, since she hadn't moved at all and only spoke when spoken to. He hoped she wasn't starting to feel sick after all.
"It might be good to know.." he said. "You'll be roomed with one of these after me.." He didn't want to think about it, being separated from Megara now, but it was a reality they would both have to face sooner or later. Better to be prepared for it.

She fought the urge to move away from him as he came closer to share the book with her. She was trying so hard to seem normal. If anything, she would seem tired or just bored. He hadn't caught on to her yet, so she was doing a good job of hiding it. But how should she react when it comes to his page? Surprised? Indifferent? That part, she hadn't decided yet. She nodded as he mentioned they would be roomed with someone else after this. It was true. Her heart felt a stab again. She didn't want to be away from him, she still felt so many feelings for him. But she knew they were all fake. He didn't feel the same. He couldn't.

He opened the book for her, flipping through it to find Kuzco's page before handing it to her.
"He was my first cellmate," he told her. "You'll be lucky if you're roomed with him. This thing says he's a murderer, but it was an accident," he said quickly, defending his best friend in here. He missed him, it had been at least a month since he saw him. He wondered how he was doing, who he was roomed with now.

She looked down at the page as he handed it to her. Kuzco...an odd name to say the least. When she finished reading his page, she flipped a few pages, falling onto Flynn. Rape...Pedophilia...Kidnapping...that wasn't the Flynn she knew. The self-prostitution didn't come to a surprise, considering what he had done in the male's task. "He's a friend...I didn't realize he had done all of this. That's not the Flynn I know.." A small frown came to her face until she forced herself to flip the pages again.

He smiled sadly at her. "People aren't always who you think they are.." he said, sorry for her. It always hurt to learn that someone you thought were a friend had only been pretending. He couldn't help but notice how he was one of the guys that had gotten it on during that task... back then he'd been disgusted and tried to ignore him to the best of his ability. Learning that he was a friend of Megara's was.. weird..

You got that right... She continued to flip the pages, glancing every now and then at the pages. Odette, Cale, Jane. Jane didn't seem like the type of girl who could be convicted of mass murder, but then again, Odette didn't seem like she could be in league with drugs or grand theft auto. "Here, you can look too." She handed the book over to him, only giving a small smile and slightly avoiding the touch of his hands. It was pretty easy to hide her true thoughts, but the more she thought about it, the harder it became, so she tried to focus more on the book and the files inside of it.

He continued to turn the pages backwards the way she had done. Maybe she hadn't wanted to flip forward because she knew her own page would be waiting there. It was okay with him, he didn't need to know everything. At least he told himself that, but his curiosity was nagging at the back of his mind.
"Isn't that the guy you were roomed with?" he said after just one flip of the page. Cillian Norewood.
He looked at the page in shock when it came to his crime before looking back up at Megara. Down on the page again, and back up. "He was a slaver?" he asked shocked, before realizing she might not have known either.

She looked down at Cillian's page, gently nodding her head. "Yes, that's him." He seemed surprised by his reaction to Cillian's crime. If he was a bad slaver, it would have been a problem, but he was good to his people. "He was a slaver, yes, but he treated them well. He prepared them for life and made sure they would have a good place to live and work.." She looked up at him as she spoke then returned her eyes to the page once again. She wondered where he was..if he was ok, if he was alive. Please let him be alive...

She was so forgiving, it made him feel cruel in comparison.. still though, he couldn't believe any slaver were good. Unless his people volunteered for it there was nothing good in it. And even then he only did it to make quick money, like everyone else. Slaving was selfish and cruel, and even if he didn't personally hurt anyone, he was only encouraging a trade that harmed so many.
"Okay.." was all he said, not wanting to argue with her. She clearly liked the guy a lot, and he didn't want to say anything to insult the guy before even meeting him. Maybe he only felt this way because he was slightly jealous.. he could still see him holding Megara's naked body in his mind. It didn't make him mad but.. upset maybe?

She could tell that looking at Cillian's page was making him uncomfortable, but she didn't reach over to flip it. Not many people were fans of the slavery idea, but if they were treated like a normal human being, what was the harm in it? She should probably be against it herself, since she had been sold a few times, thankfully she escaped all those times as well. But it didn't bother her.
"Is there a guy names Gaston in there?" She asked, clearly knowing the answer, but decided it was best to get him away from that page before he blurted something out.

"I don't know.." he looked at her curiously. Did she have a second friend? Maybe her first cellmate... but in that case she should already know he was in there. Maybe from the outside, he decided and started flipping through the pages of the folder to check. He found him on the very first page.
"Do you know him?" he asked her, and took note of his crimes. Was this someone she had gotten into trouble with? He felt the instant need to protect her from this guy, but just seeing his picture had him know that he was no match for this guy. There was nothing he could do. Luckily, he was already in prison, but what if she got roomed with him..?

[OOC: Going to bed now! It's already light outside xDD 'Night! ^^]

She watched him as he flipped the pages, glancing at every other page. "No, but I was warned about him...He was Cillian's first cellmate. Told me to be careful around him." Now she could see why..rape, murder, kidnapping, he was definitely a man she didn't want to mess with. Just the thought of him made her cringe. He was definitely stronger than her, that was obvious enough from the picture.

"Ahh.." he let out relieved, but was still rather concerned she may end up with him one day. For now he tried not to worry about that part. It was nothing he could do about it, and even if it happened, worrying about it now would only make him upset.
It took him aback how few actually weren't murderers. That was pretty scary, though he concidered him lucky that he now knew which one they were. He just hoped he wouldn't have to meet any of them any time soon.
"Want to see mine?" he asked in a low voice. It wasn't that bad, it was a really pety crime. And concidering she'd forgiven a slaver she must be relieved if anything when looking at his page. Right..?

Her body tensed when he asked about his page and she averted her gaze away. Damn it, stop it. He can't know. "I-if you want to show me, sure..." She held her breath slightly,trying to think of a way she should react. He probably thought his crime wasn't that bad, but to her, it was just as bad as a murderer.

"Relax," he said and laughed at her reaction. "I'm not a psycho."
He flipped through the page a little to find his own page, starting to see an alphabetical order to the pages. That made it easier to flip through he supposed. It didn't take long before he had his own page open and handed the folder back to her, so she could see it. He kind of hoped this would mean she'd allow him to look at hers as well. He was starting to get curious.

She slowly took the book from his hands and looked down at his page, her eyes scanning the page as if she was truely reading it. Then they stayed focused on his crime. So she hadn't imagined it...he did support prostitutes. How to react..how to react..."I can see why you're in for such a short time now.." Her shoulders were still tense, her palms becoming slightly sweaty. Now that he showed her willingly, it was getting harder to hide her true reaction. "If you want to see mine..go ahead." She quickly flipped to pages to find hers. How would he react? To him, she would seem like a psycho crazy person.
