Risks of Lust

She pulled her knees to her chest and sat where she was, just staring down towards the ground. Just thinking of being seperated from him made her sad, but now that they would be apart in such a short period of time, it made her feel sick.
Maybe she should have never gotten close to him. Never loved him. But she couldn't help herself. She had her eyes on him ever since the beginning, wanting to know him. And now she did. And she couldn't stop anything from happening. Not even Korso.

"That's it, then," he said, without knowing why. He didn't want to remind himself, or her, but perhaps he had a secret wish that she'd tell him it wasn't, assure him that they would stick together, even if they both knew it was a lie. It would still be good to hear her say it.

"Maybe it doesn't have to be..." She say completely still, not moving as she spoke. It was probably a lie, but how could they know. Neither of them could see the future. Maybe their paths would cross again...

He smiled as she'd said just what he had wanted her to, but it was a sad smile as it didn't help like he thought it was. The words didn't make him feel any better. "It does." He was just saying what they were both thinking anyway. There was no way they could be together now.
"So you're free when we swap," he said, his sad smile fading away to nothingness.

She stayed still as he spoke, not wanting to move at all. Emotions starting building up inside of her and she was working hard to keep them down. But when he said she was free, her gaze flew back to him as her heart felt like something was stabbing it repeatedly. How could he say that? She didn't want to be free from him...she wanted to be with him. Maybe he didn't feel the same at all. Her gaze slowly fell back to the floor. She wanted to cry, she wanted to scream. But she couldn't do that. She had to stay strong...

Inside his head he was sighing and swearing, but on the outside he kept still. For some reason all willpower had left him. No matter what he did, or said, it didn't matter. It wouldn't change a thing, and he was helpless. More helpless than he'd ever been in his life.
It seemed so odd that he was almost sad about leaving prison, but what was on the outside for him? Everything he loved was in here...

She sighed and stretched her legs out as she laid back on the floor. He wasn't looking at her and barely spoke to her. Why did she have to wake up? Why did she have to go against his word? She should have stayed quiet...

He didn't speak up. He was sure she was somewhat happy in any case. She could do so much better than him, what was she even doing with him in the first place? He wasn't anywhere near worthy of her. Maybe it was just because he was her only choice at the time. Maybe that was the reason she didn't even look upset. Or maybe that was just his own paranoia.
"You could do better anyway," he muttered. I can't.

She sat back up and looked at him. "Why do you always think so low of yourself Dimitri? You're amazing, but you just can't see that for yourself. You think you're some huge loser and you're not." Her voice had a hint of frustration in it as it shook slightly. She had been trying so hard to keep her emotions down and now they were coming back up. He always put himself down. Always thought he was worth nothing. She would do anything for him, but he just couldn't see that.

"Well, guess what!" he said, finally looking up at her, raising his voice in just as much frustration as she felt. He wasn't angry, just upset, and he couldn't hold that in anymore. "You're the only person in the world who thinks that, and I'm about to loose you!" Tears stung in his eyes, but he wouldn't let himself cry. He was a guy after all. It was hard showing emotions, and if he did it would only upset her more, so he blinked them back.

"Just because you're leaving this place doesn't mean you're going to lose me!" She stood up, her voice raising slightly more. Yes, he was leaving, but she would always love him. She always will love him. Her hands shook slightly and tears stung her eyes as she tried to hold her emotions back.

Dimitri was already standing slumped against the wall, but pushed back from it and stood straighter once Megara did the same. He didn't want a fight, but why was she this stubborn? Believing that nonsense would only make it hurt more once separated. Did she really think he'd wait for her? Or that she'd get out? He'd told her as much, but he didn't believe it himself. Korso would never allow it.
"Stop it!" he told her, his voice raised and stern. "It's over!" He didn't want to do this before the swap, but now seemed as good of a time as anyone to break up officially.

She stepped back slightly, a few tears falling from her eyes. How could he say that. How. "Dimitri...I love you. I will always love you. Whether you feel the same or not. You can go off and be with whoever you want but me..You're all I will ever have." Her voice was soft and full of sadness. It was true. She was never getting out of here, but he was.

He turned his back on her before his own tears fell down his cheeks, not wanting her to see them.
"That's stupid," he muttered. "We're never going to see each other again. Deciding now never to try again is just childish and stubborn."

She walked over to him and grabbed his shoulder, forcing him to turn around and look at her. "You think that I could ever try again? I am never getting out of this place, I am going to die alone. You have a life waiting for you, and that's fine. But you are the only person I have ever loved this much. The only person I will ever love." Her voice was stern, but his tears didn't phase her much. It was hard for both of them, but he had a life to return to. He had a family waiting for him. She had nothing.

"Being stuck here never stopped you before," he said, sounding a bit more hurtful than he had intended. He was right however, there were guys in here as well. Some by the looks of it who would never get out of this place either.
"Why don't you go back to your slaver? You seemed awfully fond of him." He hadn't meant to say that, and regretted it the second the words had rolled off his tounge, but he couldn't take them back. Not now. So he kept glaring at her, hoping she would stop this folly.

She took a step back and just looked at him. Why were they doing this? Why were they fighting in their last days together? More tears fell from her eyes as she took a deep breath and turned around, walking away from him. There wasn't anywhere to go but across the room, but right now, that was going to have to do. She didn't make any sounds, just stood with her shoulder leaning on the wall and her back to him as the tears kept coming. Now that they had started, nothing was going to stop them. He didn't want anything to do with her. She could see that now.

He wanted to apologize to her immediatly seeing her reaction, but apologizing now would only give her more hope for them, and once those hopes came crashing down so would she. He didn't want to hurt her anymore than he'd already done.
She'd be happier mad at him than loving him.

"You're right...we never should have gotten close..." Her voice was soft and didn't turn to look at him. Her hand came up to her face and covered her mouth to keep from sobbing harder. It was getting harder to not scream at him and try to get him to understand how she truly felt. He just wasn't making it easy.

Her words hurt more than he'd ever let on, but he couldn't find the words to say or the will to answer. He simply nodded, though he knew she couldn't see. It was more to himself than anything. As if saying he was right for doing this, doing the right thing.
He had stilled his crying, though his chest and throat hurt immensly, and dried the tears on his cheek. This was for the best. He'd chosen to live happily in those weeks with her, and now he'd have to pay the price of equal sorrow at her loss.

Her tears had started to stop, probably because she didn't have anymore, and she turned and rested her back on the wall. She wiped the water off of her cheeks with the sleeve of her suit and took a deep breath. So that was it..they were done. It was for the best.

He sank to the floor, laying down and turning around so he wouldn't have to look at her.
"We should get back to sleep," he muttered, not sure if she heard him and not caring either. His only chapter of happiness had ended, and he'd never get it back. Not with her, not with anyone else. He felt so empty and cold now.
He couldn't sleep for anything, but he just wanted to lay here and stare at the wall, his mind empty and his feelings dulled. He just wanted to lay here in silence until the next cellmate swap came.

She gave a slight nod before she slid down onto the floor, pulling her knees up to her chest and burying her face. After all of this, it felt like her whole life had been for nothing. She finally found something to love and now it was being ripped away from her forever. She had forgotten it was the middle of the night. All of their yelling and fighting no doubt woke up some of the other prisoners, even the guard.
He felt like he was a whole world away from her now. Even though they were just on opposite sides of the cell, it felt like miles. This is how they would end their time together. In bitterness. No more happy memories. They were all replaced by this one. Maybe that was his plan all along...

[OOC: D'aawww, I love these two *-* Think that's an adorably tragic way to end it before their next meeting? I am going jogging now, and when I get back it will be pretty close to midnight, so we don't have time to do much more anyway xD]
