Just to know your alive

He got up usddenly, rubbing the back of his head with mild annoyance as he looked around. He was slightly tired, and even though his body'd never admit it, the feeling of his back aching due to the lack of a proper sleeping soil made him reconsider his options.

Looking at her for a second, he nodded in assertion as he acknowledged she was doing everything perfectly.

Jane floated in her memories, enjoying the happiness and lightness. Then she frowned slightly. Something appeared. A dark shadow maybe? She tried to catch it, but it disappeared as fast as it came. She breathed calmly and relaxed back again.

For a long time she hadn't remembered back to those times. When there was a happy family. When there seemed always to be sunlight and laughter.

The shadow came back and for a short moment she saw something. She couldn't explain, but Jane opened her eyes fast and breathed heavily. Something dropped down her face, so she lifted her hand. When Jane looked at her hand, she saw it were tears. Now she realised, that she was sobbing quietly.

Why?

Jane took a deep breath and tried to calm down, drying her tears with the sleeve of her jumpsuit. She would never meditate again.

Never.

"Sometimes, what you need is not exactly compatible with what you want, Porter-sempai." he said with a calm expression, his eyes meeting the wall while his hand was firmly pressed against it. He sometimes wondered just what went on in the heads of people around him. Most were gifted with an uncanny ability of causing a mess or getting into trouble for the stupidest of reasons. To that day, he could never phatom a decent explanation for that. Was it that bad to expect someone to behave normally? "It is still good that you faced what might have troubled you though. Sometimes, tears are a medal you should wear with pride."

(OOC: I'm so sorry, but I'm confused by your answer... Jane hasn't said out loud that she won't meditate again. I can't understand his reaction, sorry. >.<)

((OOC: He said that because he noticed the tear in her hand. Most people who have to face traumas react badly. Hence him saying what he did. 'Cause he knows what it's like to face one's demons.))

Jane lifted her head and looked at Shang. She started to nod vaguely. The truth was, she didn't really knew what she had seen. THe only thing she remembered was darkness and red. But she couldn't say why. Just made her more confused to think about it.

"Do you always see something, when you meditate?", she asked shyly.

He looked at her for a second, his eyebrow raising as he wondered on what to say to her, seeing that the answer to her question could be highly subjective. He guessed that, since she did try her best to face her demons, he'd be honest with her too. It was fair game.

"Yes. Mostly it's metaphorical. Like snakes. I have a strange connection with those." he said briefly, softly looking away.
